Scope
This standard specifies the calculation method of basic rated static load and equivalent static load of rolling bearings. This standard is applicable to rolling bearings whose size range complies with relevant national standards, is made of high-quality hardened steel, manufactured according to good processing methods, and the shape of the rolling contact surface is basically of conventional design. This standard is not applicable to bearings where the contact area between the rolling elements and the ring raceway is obviously cut off due to the service conditions or (and) the internal structure of the bearing. If the calculation is carried out according to this standard, satisfactory results cannot be obtained. Likewise, this standard does not apply to occasions where the load in the bearing deviates from the normal distribution due to service conditions, such as inclination, preload or excessive clearance. If these situations occur, the user should consult with the bearing manufacturer on how to calculate the equivalent static load. This standard also does not apply to rolling elements running directly on shaft or housing surfaces unless these surfaces are equivalent in all respects to the raceway surfaces of the bearing rings they replace. For double-row radial bearings and double-direction thrust bearings, if referring to this standard, it should be assumed that their structure is symmetrical.
