Scope

This standard specifies the Schober and MIT methods for measuring the folding strength of paper and cardboard, and proposes the conditions to be observed when using the instrument, the conditions to be observed when using each instrument, and the matters that should be paid attention to when using each instrument. The Schober method is suitable for paper with a thickness of less than 0.25mm and a tensile strength greater than 1.33kN/m, and cardboard with a thickness of 0.25mm to 1.4mm. The MIT method has adjustable spacing chucks and is suitable for paper and cardboard with a thickness not greater than 1.25mm.
