Scope

This standard specifies the vocabulary of drilling and oil production equipment and tools and special pipes in petroleum exploration and development. This standard applies to the understanding and use of these commonly used terms in the application fields of petroleum exploration, drilling and oil production engineering, mechanical design, manufacture and use. All are nouns unless otherwise stated.
