Scope: This standard gives the basic method for explosion relief design in places where combustible dust and mixtures are present. This standard applies to general industrial dust. This standard does not apply to toxic and corrosive dust, explosives or energetic materials. This standard does not apply to equipment subject to detonation hazards. The explosive pressure relief technology in this standard is only allowed to be used under the condition that it does not seriously endanger the surrounding environment and does not cause harm to the safety and health of personnel. If it is proved by actual tests that the same level of safety as this standard can be guaranteed, the method used and the calculated pressure relief area are allowed to deviate from this standard.
