Scope: This standard specifies conductors for power cables and cords with a nominal cross-sectional area of 0.5mm²~2500mm². Requirements for the number and size of individual wires and resistance values are also included. These conductors include solid and stranded copper, aluminum and aluminum alloy conductors, and flexible copper conductors in fixed-lay cables. This standard does not apply to conductors for communication purposes. This standard applies to cables of a particular design, as long as the individual types of cables are specified in this standard. Unless an exception is indicated in a specific clause, this standard deals with conductors of finished cables, not conductors manufactured or furnished for cable extrusion. This standard includes informative annexes that provide supplementary information, including temperature correction factors for resistance measurements (Annex B) and size ranges for circular conductors (Annex C).
