Scope: This part of GB/T 4880 provides a code group for representing languages, which consists of three-letter language codes containing language code elements. The language codes formulated in this part have a wide range of applications and are especially suitable for computer systems. GB/T 4880.1-2005 and GB/T 4880.2-2000 include the main languages that often appear in the world literature; while this part covers all languages as much as possible, including existing languages, extinct languages, ancient languages and man-made languages, even A large number of unknown languages, regardless of importance. This section does not include language codes designed for machine applications, such as computer programming languages, refactoring languages, etc. Human understanding of world languages is constantly changing. If a language is significantly different from other languages, a new language code needs to be established (see Chapter 3 and Chapter 4); if the language code can no longer accurately reflect the differences between languages , the existing language codes may also be revised or questioned. Therefore, careful consideration must be given when setting standards to ensure that existing standards are not affected by various changes.
