Scope: This standard defines conceptual schemas for describing the spatial characteristics of geographic features and a set of spatial operations based on these schemas. It handles vector geometry and topology within 3 dimensions, and is the access, query, management, and processing of geographic information for spatial objects (geometric and topological) of no more than 3 topological dimensions in a coordinate space with a maximum of 3 axes and data exchange define standard spatial operations.
