Scope
This standard specifies the calculation method for checking the contact strength and bending strength of industrial spur gears and helical gears. The calculation formulas in this standard are not applicable to other forms of tooth damage, such as plastic deformation, micropitting, gluing, surface collapse, welding and wear, nor can they be applied to the vibration conditions of unexpected tooth profile damage Down. The bending strength formula can be applied to fracture at the tooth root fillet, but not to fracture on the surface of the working tooth profile, failure of the gear ring, or failure of the web and hub of the tooth blank. This standard does not apply to gear teeth with forging or sintering as the final machining method, nor to gears with poor contact spots. This standard provides a method for comparing different gear designs. It is not intended to ensure the performance of transmission gear systems after assembly, nor is it intended for general engineering use. It is used by experienced gear designers.
