Scope

This standard stipulates the structural type, strength grade, load grade, technical requirements, test methods, marking and storage, use requirements, inspection and scrapping of lifting rings used in port loading and unloading. This standard applies to welded lifting rings with circular cross-sections for port loading and unloading rigging assemblies, and also applies to hot-forged lifting rings with circular cross-sections, but not to non-circular cross-sectional lifting rings and cast lifting rings.
