Scope

This part of GB/T 6730 specifies the gravimetric method for the determination of loss on ignition (LOI) in iron ore. This section applies to the determination of loss on ignition in natural iron ore, iron concentrate and sinter. Measuring range (mass fraction): -10.0% to 12.0%. This section does not apply to processed ores containing metallic iron, natural or processed ores with a sulfur content greater than 0.2% (mass fraction).
