Scope: This standard specifies general guidelines for the construction and use of optical transfer function measurement devices for imaging systems. This section describes the various important factors that may affect the OTF measurement, while specifying the performance requirements of the measurement device and general rules for environmental control. This section specifies the points that must be paid attention to in order to ensure accurate measurement, as well as the correction factors for the measured data. The optical transfer function measurement device described in this section is limited to the analysis of the radiation distribution on the image plane of the optical imaging system under test. These devices do not include interferometer-based instruments.
