Scope

This part of ISO 10000 provides definitions for terms in dentistry, especially those referring to dental equipment. Passage terminology and clinical terminology, terminology relating to dental materials, dental instruments, and terminology relating to testing of such products, are included as four additional sections in the Dental Terminology Standard. The Dental Terminology Standard aims to give a common definition to a large number of terms used in dentistry, which will be extremely useful for understanding and implementing relevant standards, as well as strengthening ties and close cooperation with relevant international organizations.
