- This standard applies to variable capacitors used in electronic equipment, and specifies the applicable terms and test methods. The capacitors described in this standard are classified according to the type (function), medium, type and use defined in Articles 3.8, 3.9 and 3.10. Each "type specification" will specify the specific tests and requirements applicable to each class of capacitor. The detailed specification for a capacitor of a certain specification should be formulated according to the relevant "type specification".
