Scope: This specification is formulated in order to unify the anti-freezing design standards and technical requirements of hydraulic structures under the action of ice, freeze-thaw and frost heave, and improve the anti-icing design level of hydraulic structures. This code is applicable to the anti-freezing design of newly-built or reconstructed hydraulic structures subjected to ice, freeze-thaw and frost heave. The anti-freeze design of hydraulic structures should meet the following requirements: It should be adapted to local conditions, safe and reliable, economical and reasonable, and practical and beautiful. Basic information such as the natural conditions of the location of the building, building construction and operating conditions should be fully grasped. The anti-freezing design scheme should be determined according to the factors of freezing, the degree of harm, the level and type of the building, and the requirements for construction and operation should be put forward. Special research should be carried out for projects severely affected by freezing. The advanced technology of anti-freezing effect can be adopted in combination with specific projects. The anti-icing design of hydraulic structures shall not only comply with this code, but also comply with the current relevant national standards.
