Scope: This standard defines terms used in the hose industry. Terms are listed alphabetically in English. When a term has one or more synonyms, the synonymous terms are listed after the preferred term, also in alphabetical order. A synonym term for rejection is indicated by "(rejection)". "See also" is used to refer to another term (not always a synonym) that contains information about that term. This standard is divided into two units: 2.1 Terminology for hoses; 2.2 Terminology for hose assemblies (contains Appendix A: Recommended nomenclature, and resistance limits specified in accordance with the ISO and CEN standard structure for rubber and plastic hoses and hose assemblies ).
