Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements, testing methods, usage methods, label instructions and precautions for hand sanitizers. This standard applies to hand sanitizers made from iodines, alcohols, guanidines, quaternary ammonium salts, and phenols, and water or ethanol as solvents. This standard does not apply to disinfectants used for skin disinfection.
