Scope
This standard specifies the reference model, service carrying capacity and performance indicators, interface type (CT), system functions and protocols, operation and maintenance management and Requirements for electrical safety of equipment, etc., and detailed specifications for the PMD sublayer, RS sublayer, MPCP, and OAM protocols of the EPON system. This standard applies to EPON equipment in the public telecommunication network environment, and can also be used by reference to private telecommunication networks.
