This section deals with the limitation of harmonic currents injected into the utility power supply system. This section specifies the limits of the harmonic components of the input current that may be generated by the equipment under specified test conditions. Harmonic components are measured in accordance with Appendix A and Appendix B. This section applies to electrical and electronic equipment intended to be connected to the public low-voltage power distribution system with an input current of no more than 16A per phase. Non-dedicated arc welding equipment, the input current of each phase is not more than 16A, belongs to the scope of this part. Relevant regulations for special arc welding equipment are given in IEC60974 1, which is not covered in this section, and can be based on the installation restrictions given in IEC/TR61000 3 4 or IEC61000 3 12. The tests carried out in accordance with this standard are type tests. The test conditions for special equipment are given in Appendix C. Limits for systems with nominal voltages lower than 220V (phase voltage) have not been considered. Note: Words such as devices, appliances, parts and equipment are used in this section, and they have the same meaning in this section.
