- Scope
- This standard applies to on-load tap-changers and their motor-driven mechanisms for power transformers. It is mainly suitable for tap-changers immersed in transformer oil conforming to GB2536-81, but it can also be used for gas-insulated tap-changers under very suitable conditions. NOTE: This standard considers synthetic insulating liquids to be also a type of oil. Synthetic insulating fluids may only be used with tap-changers if the design of the tap-changer is compatible with the synthetic insulating fluid.
