Scope
This standard specifies the evaluation method for the corrosion state of the anodic coating sample after the corrosion test. This standard applies to the rating of the above-mentioned samples after the outdoor atmospheric exposure test, and also to the rating of similar samples after the accelerated corrosion test. This standard does not consider some details of the actual product evaluation. This standard applies to protective coatings that are anodic to the base metal, such as zinc coatings with or without passivation on steel or tin coatings with or without passivation on copper. Not suitable for coatings which are cathodic to the base metal, such as electroplated nickel decachrome or copper decanickel decachrome plating on steel and zinc die castings.
