This standard specifies the design requirements, inspection rules, technical characteristics (including radiation characteristics, electrical characteristics, mechanical characteristics, environmental characteristics), test methods and technical documents of critical accident alarm equipment. This standard applies to equipment that detects ionizing radiation produced by critical accidents and can alarm. This standard does not apply to indicators or recorders, nor does it apply to equipment and devices used in nuclear reactor control systems and safety protection systems. The characteristics of these instruments and equipment must comply with their corresponding general technical conditions. This standard is mainly used for equipment design and manufacture, therefore, it does not involve the layout requirements of the equipment.
