Scope

This standard specifies a test method for measuring the wear resistance and wear coefficient of aluminum and aluminum alloy anodic oxide films with a wheel wear tester. This standard applies to the inspection of plate-shaped samples with an anodized film thickness not less than 5 μm. This method can be used to determine the wear resistance and wear coefficient of the entire layer thickness and the surface layer of the anodic oxide film, or a certain layer of an arbitrarily selected oxide film. This standard does not apply to the determination of anodized samples with uneven surface.
