This standard specifies the visual or tactile evaluation method (comparison sample method) and evaluation level of the surface roughness of the steel surface after abrasive spraying and blasting cleaning before painting. This standard applies to the evaluation of the surface roughness of steel and other materials after spraying and blasting with metal or non-metallic abrasives, and also applies to the evaluation of steel surface roughness requirements before other protective treatments. This standard is applicable to steels whose surface derusting grade after abrasive blasting and blast cleaning is higher than Sa21/2 grade in GB8923 "Steel surface corrosion grade and derusting grade before painting". It can be used as a reference for steel products of lower grades. Note: Abrasives include shot abrasives and angular abrasives.
