Scope

This standard specifies the method for the determination of the content of nonionic surfactants in detergents. This standard is applicable to the determination of non-ionic surfactants such as polyethoxylated fatty alcohol (AEO), polyethoxylated alkylphenol (ADE), polyether (PE) and alkanoyldiethanolamine in detergents. Common anionic surfactants, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, sodium chloride, sodium sulfate, sodium tripolyphosphate, sodium silicate, sodium borate and other components in detergents do not interfere with this method. But petroleum ether solubles make the result correspondingly high.
