Scope
This standard specifies the method of preparing mixed gas for calibration (hereinafter referred to as calibration gas) by pressure method. The accuracy of the concentration of each component prepared by this standard can vary within a wide range. For the calibration gas that can be regarded as an ideal gas, see Appendix A (Supplement), the relative error of the concentration expressed by the pressure ratio or molar ratio is less than 1%. For some gases, such as hydrocarbons or polar compounds, the potential error can be large. Since the calculation methods used (Dalton method, Armag method, Kjeldahl method) are not absolutely strict, the pressure measurement method is often used to prepare a calibration gas with an approximate required concentration, and then use the comparative method to determine its concentration; Direct analytical methods can also be used if necessary. Note: When a gas component approaches its saturation point, conversion between concentration units becomes difficult.
