Scope

The purpose of this part of GB/T 32855 is to specify an enterprise interoperability framework (FEI); this framework establishes several dimensions and perspectives to deal with interoperability barriers, propose potential solutions and illustrate the relationship between them . GB/T 32855 applies to manufacturing enterprises and can also be used in other types of enterprises. GB/T 32855 is intended for use by stakeholders who develop and deploy solutions based on information and communication technologies. The focus of GB/T 32855 is on enterprise (manufacturing or service) interoperability, but it is not limited to this. This part of GB/T 32855 specifies: -- a number of perspectives, which are aimed at stakeholder concerns, and the focus factors are the exchange of entities (information objects or physical objects) at the operational level of enterprises that require interoperability; -- a framework that frames stakeholder concerns (business, process, service, and data), barriers to enterprise interoperability (conceptual, technical, and organizational), and ways to overcome them (integration, unified and federated), the framework also includes the identification of solutions that enable interoperability. This part of GB/T 32855 does not specify a specific mechanism for the exchange of entities (information objects or physical objects), nor does it specify a method for implementing interoperable solutions. Three appendices provide additional information. Appendix A describes how existing interoperability frameworks relate to this framework. Appendix B is an example of using the FEI to identify and categorize interoperability barriers, knowledge, and solutions. Appendix C gives methodological guidance on how to use FEI in interoperability engineering projects.
