- This International Standard gives the rules for the syntax of messages to be exchanged between developing partners in the administrative, commercial and transport fields. Users of this standard should note that the syntax rules specified here are part of the United Nations Trade Data Interchange Directory (UNTDID). Although these grammar rules may be used in any application, messages using these grammar rules may only be accepted if they are consistent with other rules and categories of UNTDID and have been approved by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UN/ECE). Think of it as an EDIFACT message.
