This part of GB/T 7759 specifies the test method for determining the compression set properties of vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber under normal and high temperature conditions. This method is used to measure the ability of rubber with a hardness in the range of 10 IRHD to 95 IRHD to maintain its elasticity after continuous compression under the conditions of specified temperature and compression rate (usually 25%). When the rubber hardness is greater than 80 IRHD, a lower compression ratio should be selected: 80 IRHD~89 IRHD compression ratio is 15%, and 90 IRHD~95 IRHD compression ratio is 10%.
