This International Standard identifies event sustainability management system requirements for or in connection with events of any kind and provides guidance for compliance with these requirements. This standard applies to any organization that wishes to: a) establish, implement, maintain and improve a sustainability management system for major events; b) ensure that the organization complies with its established sustainability policy; c) demonstrate voluntary Conformity to this standard: 1) first party (self-confirmation and self-declaration); 2) second party (confirmation of conformity by a party with an interest in the organization such as the customer or its representative); 3) independent third party ( such as certification bodies, etc.). This standard is intended to emphasize the management of sustainable improvements throughout the event management cycle. The appendices contain additional guidance and information to support the application of this standard.
