Scope
This part of GB 15558 specifies the terms and definitions, materials, requirements and tests for buried polyethylene (PE) pipes for gas (hereinafter referred to as "pipes") extruded from polyethylene (PE) compounds as raw materials. Methods, inspection rules, marking and packaging, transportation, storage. The types of pipes specified in this part include: --Single-layer solid-wall pipes; --Pipes whose outer wall is covered with a peelable thermoplastic protective layer. This part is applicable to buried polyethylene (PE) pipes for gas with a nominal outer diameter of 16 mm to 630 mm manufactured by PE 80 and PE 100. The maximum operating pressure (MOP) of the pipe is determined based on the design stress, taking into account the Effect of Rapid Crack Propagation (RCP) Properties. When transporting artificial gas and liquefied petroleum gas, the adverse effects of other components in the gas (such as: aromatic hydrocarbons, condensate) on the performance of the pipe at a certain concentration should be considered.
