ISO 18564:2016 specifies all the information necessary for carrying out efficiently and under standardised conditions the noise emission values of self-propelled forestry machinery. It is applicable to fellers, bunchers, delimbers, forwarders, log loaders, skidders, processors, harvesters, mulchers and multi-function versions of these machine types, as defined in ISO 6814. Noise emission characteristics include A-weighted emission sound pressure values at the operator's station and the A-weighted sound power value. The determination of these quantities is necessary for the following: - manufacturers to declare the noise emitted; - comparing the noise emitted by machines in the family concerned; - purposes of noise control at the source at the design stage. NOTE For low-noise design, noise emission values in frequency bands are useful and the basic International Standards ISO 3744 and ISO 11201 can be used for determining noise emission quantities in frequency bands.

This document specifies field survey methods for measuring a) airborne sound insulation between rooms, c) airborne sound insulation of façades, and b) impact sound insulation of floors, d) sound pressure levels in rooms caused by service equipment. The methods described in this document are applicable for measurements in rooms of dwellings or in rooms of comparable size with a maximum of 150 m3. For airborne sound insulation, impact sound insulation and façade sound insulation the method gives values which are (octave band) frequency dependent. They can be converted into a single number characterising the acoustical performances by application of ISO 717-1 and ISO 717-2. For heavy/soft impact sound insulation, the results also are given as A-weighted maximum impact sound pressure level. For service equipment sound the results are given directly in A - or C -weighted sound pressure levels.

1   Scope 1.1   General This International Standard specifies a method for determining the emission sound pressure levels of machinery or equipment, at a work station and at other specified positions nearby, in situ . A work station is occupied by an operator and may be located in open space, in the room where the source under test operates, in a cab fixed to the source under test, or in an enclosure remote from the source under test. One or more specified positions may be located in the vicinity of a work station , or in the vicinity of an attended or unattended machine. Such positions are sometimes referred to as bystander positions. Emission sound pressure levels are determined as A-weighted levels. Additionally, levels in frequency bands and C-weighted peak emission sound pressure levels can be determined in accordance with this International Standard, if required. NOTE 1 The contents of the series ISO 11200 [15] to ISO 11205 [19] are summarized in ISO 11200 [15] . Methods are given for determining a local environmental correction (subject to a specified limiting maximum value) to be applied to the measured sound pressure levels in order to eliminate the influence of reflecting surfaces other than the plane on which the source under test is placed.
