This European Standard specifies dimensions, materials and performance requirements (including methods of test) for in line hot water supply tempering valves for sanitary hot water systems, of nominal sizes from DN 15 to DN 50. Tempering valves reduce the temperature of sanitary hot water for distribution throughout the hot water system. The conditions of use are specified in Table 1. The valves are intended to be used with storage water heaters to provide tempered hot water to the terminal fitting. They are not intended to control the temperature at the point of use. Tempering valves control the distribution temperature from a water heater to a preset value or an adjustable range, both between 45 °C and 65 °C. Table 1 - Conditions of use

This European Standard specifies general requirements for installation (including ancillaries) methods for checking the functionality during normal operation and requirements for maintenance and repair to prevent and repair failures of water conditioning devices inside buildings for the treatment of drinking water. This European Standard concerns devices which are permanently connected to the water distribution system in a building at the point of entry (downstream from the delivery point of the mains supply) and/or at the point of use. NOTE Influence of the water quality on the distribution system downstream of the device is not covered by this European Standard but is covered by documentation for specific devices.

This European Standard specifies requirements relating to the construction and mode of operation and relevant methods for testing automatic, salt-regenerated, anion exchange nitrate removal devices for drinking water installations inside buildings, which are permanently connected to the mains supply. NOTE Products intended for use in water supply systems are to comply, when existing, with national regulations and testing arrangements that ensure fitness for contact with drinking water. The Member State’s relevant regulators and the EC Commission agreed on the principle for a future unique European Acceptance Scheme (EAS) which would provide a common testing and approval arrangement at European level. If and when the EAS is adopted, European Standards on products will be amended by the addition of an Annex Z/EAS under Mandate M/136, which will contain formal references to the testing, certification and product marking requirements of the EAS. Until the EAS comes into force, the current national regulations remain applicable.

1 Scope 1.1 This Standard specifies test methods and markings for flexible water connectors with excess flow shut-off devices. 1.2 The devices covered by this Standard are intended to be used in water supply systems under (a) continuous pressure in accessible locations; or (b) intermittent pressure in recreational vehicles. 1.3 In this Standard, “shall” is used to express a requirement, i.e., a provision that the user is obliged to satisfy in order to comply with the standard; “should” is used to express a recommendation or that which is advised but not required; and “may” is used to express an option or that which is permissible within the limits of the standard.
