This European Standard specifies evacuation lighting in road tunnels longer than 500 m and with an AADT (Annual Average Daily Traffic) higher than 500 vehicles to facilitate the safe evacuation of vehicle occupants in evacuation situations such as fire. It addresses the fundamental issues of evacuation lighting for evacuation routes, emergency exits and cross connections, as well as giving some practical advice regarding aspects of installation and maintenance in road tunnels. It is intended to be used in conjunction with CEN/CR 14380:2003 or relevant national standards for road tunnel lighting. The recommendations may be applied to tunnels up to 500 m in le

Roadway and Area Lighting Equipment - Ingress Protection (Resistance to Dust, Solid Objects and Moisture) for Luminaire Enclosures
This part of BS 5489 gives recommendations on the general principles of road lighting, and its aesthetic and technical aspects, and advises on operation and maintenance. It gives recommendations for the design of lighting for all types of highway and public thoroughfare, including those specifically for pedestrians and cyclists, and for pedestrian subways and bridges, but it excludes the lighting of vehicular tunnels which is covered in BS 5489-2.It gives recommendations for the design of lighting for urban centres and public amenity areas. It gives additional recommendations for lighting around aerodromes, railways, coastal waters, harbours and navigable waterways, in order to minimize the possibility of the lighting interfering with these modes of transport.

Roadway and Area Lighting Equipment - Fiber Reinforced Composite (FRC) Lighting Poles
Standard for Roadway and Area Lighting Equipment - Enclosed Architectural Luminaires
This European Standard specifies requirements for reinforced and prestressed concrete lighting columns. It applies to columns not exceeding 20 m height for post top lanterns and columns with brackets not exceeding 18 m height for side entry lanterns. This European Standard specifies: a) performance related to the essential requirement of resistance to horizontal (wind) loads, measured in accordance with EN 40-3; b) performance under vehicle impact (passive safety) in support of the Essential Requirement No. 4 Safety in use, measured in accordance with the corresponding test methods included in this document or available in separate European Standards.

This standard provides minimum specification for the quality and dimensions of wood moulding protect ground wires on utility pole structures.
Wood Ground Wire Moulding
This Standard describes the installation and maintenance procedures for high mast, roadway, area, and sport lighting systems installed outdoors for commercial, institutional, and industrial applications. This Standard applies to high intensity discharge lighting luminaires rated 600 Volts and less and mounted on poles. This Standard does not apply to specialized applications or installations with special environmental or regulatory conditions.
Standard for Installing and Maintaining High Mast, Roadway and Area Lighting
This standard covers the following roadway and area lighting equipment, which may be physically and electrically interchanged to operate within established values: a)Locking-type photocontrol, herein referred to as 'photocontrol.' b)Locking-type mating receptacle, herein referred to as 'receptacle.' c)Shorting and non-shorting caps.

This standard applies to steel lighting poles. This standard includes nomenclature, dimensional data, performance criteria, and some interchangeability features for standard poles as well as those that must meet breakaway requirements for poles as described in Standard Specifications for Structural Supports for Highway Signs, Luminaires, and Traffic Signals, AASHTO LTS.

Maintenance of electricity networks Part 5: Street lighting and high masts Section 1: Maintenance of street lighting and high masts
This standard covers the electrical and mechanical interchangeability of electrical devices mounted on or in luminaires, brackets, or remotely mounted on the support structure of the luminaire and that may draw power from the luminaire. These devices are used in conjunction with roadway and area lighting luminaires and may be mounted or plugged into the photo control receptacle. This standard does not cover such things as flag banners, flower containers, or decorative holiday/seasonal lights.
