Dieser Teil von ISO 6509 legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Entzinkungstiefe von Kupfer-Zink-Legierungen, die Wasser, salzhaltigen wassrigen Losungen oder Trinkwasser ausgesetzt werden, fest. Das Verfahren ist fur Kupfer-Zink-Legierungen vorgesehen, die einen Massenanteil an Zink von mehr als 15 % aufweisen. Dieser Teil von ISO 6509 beschreibt nur das Prufverfahren und legt keine Akzeptanzkriterien von Werkstoffen fur eine spezifische Anwendung fest. Die Akzeptanzkriterien werden in ISO 6509-2 beschrieben. ANMERKUNG Das Verfahren darf auserhalb des Anwendungsbereiches im Rahmen einer Uberprufung oder zu Forschungszwecken angewendet werden.

In dieser Internationalen Norm werden mit der Benennung "Metall" auch Legierungen erfasst. Diese Internationale Norm beschreibt ein Verfahren zur Bewertung der Wasserstoffaufnahme in Metallen, das auf der Messung der Wasserstoffstromung (des Wasserstoffflusses) im stationaren Zustand beruht. Ferner werden Verfahren zur Bestimmung des effektiven Diffusionsvermogens von Wasserstoffatomen in einem Metall und zur Unterscheidung reversibler und irreversibler Fehlstellen beschrieben. In dieser Internationalen Norm werden Anforderungen an die Vorbereitung der Proben, die Kontrolle und Uberwachung der Umgebungsvariablen, die Prufverfahren und die Auswertung der Ergebnisse festgelegt.
