This standard defines the processes required to decode the DV-based data structure into eight channels of AES-3 digital audio at 48 kHz, subcode data, and high-definition video at 1080/60i, 1080/50i, and 720/60p. The following high-definition video parameters are used in this standard: 1080/60i system Input video format: 1920 × 1080 image sampling structure, 59,94 Hz field rate, interlace format. This part of IEC 62447 specifies the content, format, and recording method of the data blocks containing video, audio, and associated data which form the helical records on 6,35-mm tape in cassettes as specified in SMPTE 307M. In addition, this standard specifies the content, format, and recording method for longitudinal cue and control tracks. One compressed video channel, eight independent audio channels and subcode data are recorded on tape in the digital form. Each of these channels is capable of independent editing. On the following digital video formats, the helical recordings are synchronized to: – 1080 line/59,94 Hz field frequency; – 1080 line/50 Hz field frequency; – 720 line/59,94 Hz frame frequency. These are hereafter referred to as the 1080/60i, 1080/50i,and 720/60p systems, respectively. Similarly, in this standard, the 60 Hz system nomenclature refers to both 1080/60i and 720/60p systems, whereas, the 50 Hz system refers only to the 1080/50i system. Nomenclature 1080 line system refers to both 1080/60i and 1080/50i systems, while the 720 line system refers only to the 720/60p system. The recorded digital video signal shall be compressed according to the DV-based 100 Mb/s specification. The recorded digital video signal, eight audio channels and subcode data shall be defined by the data structure according to the DV-based 100 Mb/s specification.

This part of IEC 62447defines the format of the data stream for the synchronous exchange of DV-based audio, data, and compressed video (whose data structure is defined in SMPTE 370M) over the interface defined in SMPTE 305M. It covers the transmission of audio, subcode data and compressed video packets associated with DV-based 100 Mb/s data structures for 525/60 SDTI and 625/50 SDTI systems. Space within SMPTE 305M not used by a data stream conforming to this standard may be used for the transmission of data other than those representing DV-based audio, data and compressed video. In this standard, the 60 Hz system refers to the field-frequency 59,94 Hz system and the 50 Hz system refers to the field-frequency 50,0 Hz system.

The ITU Radiocommunications Assembly considering a) that new very high resolution, LSDI are being introduced in some countries, whereby dramas, plays, sporting events, concerts, cultural events, etc., photographed electronically or on film, can be delivered, and exhibited in high resolution quality in theatres, halls, and other venues equipped with digital imaging capabilities; b) that such practice has the potential to produce excellent picture quality, equal or superior to that available heretofore, and opens the possibility for program delivery in various digital forms for exhibition to large audiences; c) that such practice is reported to also offer significant benefits in terms of a faster, lower cost production/postproduction and distribution, including to smaller, less-developed markets; d) that high resolution, bright, large screen projection equipment is available from several international manufacturers; e) that it may be beneficial to develop a uniform or compatible hierarchy of technical standards for program recording, mastering 3 , exchange, delivery and exhibition, harmonized with those established for the recording and mastering, exchange and delivery of programs for other applications, since this can ease international program exchange; f) that the ITU-R has been studying extremely high resolution imagery under Question ITU-R 40/6 based on the concept of a tiered or hierarchical approach.

This Technical Specification describes a conceptual model for multimedia e-publishing and ebook. The conceptual model is specified from the standardization point of view in order to clarify the functionality of e-publishing/e-book components and the relationships between them and to define e-publishing services. The model provides the key technology to be standardized in e-publishing environment. It should be noted that the modelling is not intended for actual implementation of a system or system components for e-publishing. The modelling is expected to be used as a reference for discussing and developing new standardization work on multimedia e-publishing and e-books and, therefore, to contribute to the expansion of the international and domestic markets for multimedia e-publishing and e-book. This part of IEC 61966 specifies a set of data in colour test chart files for measurements, sampling of successive prints, measurement conditions and forms of reporting the results so as to make possible the characterization of the colour printer and comparison of the results of measurements. The sets of data for measurements are in colour test chart files expressed in a red–green–blue colour space, to which corresponding colour images are reproduced on reflective substrate. The methods of measurement in this standard are designed to be applicable to reflective colour prints for consumer use. The reflective colour prints may be produced by non-impact colour printers, incorporating such technologies as ink-jet, sublimation transfer, thermal transfer, electro-photography and other similar technologies. This standard does not specify limiting values for various attributes.
