This document gives cquivalent lerms and their dcfinition for machinery safety in the three official languagcs of CEN and CENELEC. The lerms included are those which have been idenlified as being fundamental lo machinery safety standards because their equivalence and definition are necessary lo avoid ambiguity and ensure consislency of use.
These definitions have been extracted without change from A and B mandated standards. The origin is indicated precisely under the English version of the definitions, by giving the EN number with elause and subclause. The terms and definitions given shall be used when drafting machinery safery standards.
NOTE I : In addition lo terms used in the three official CEN/CENELEC languages (English. French and German), this European Prestandard gives the cquivalent terms in the Danish, Dutch, Finnish, ltalian, Norwegian, Spanish and Swedish languages; these are published under the responsibiliry of the National Commiltee/member body for Denmark, Finland, Italy, Nethcrlands. Norway, Spain and Sweden. However, only the terms and definitions given in the official languagcs can be considered as EN terms and definitions.
