本标准规定的技术要求，在符合防护型口罩相关强制性标准全部技术指标要求的基础上，结合石墨烯口罩的新特点新功能以及新材料应用可能带来的潜在生物安全性等问题，遵循“从优不从众”原则确定，建立新的或提升了现有的技术指标要求。本标准的制定不仅可为石墨烯口罩的高质量供给提供检验依据，同时对防护型口罩升级换代发挥着重要的引领作用。 与GB 2626—2019《呼吸防护 自吸过滤式防颗粒物呼吸器》相比，本文件新增的主要技术要求有： ——鉴于石墨烯新材料的应用及其安全性考虑，增加微生物指标及皮肤刺激试验、迟发性超敏反应试验、急性经口毒性试验和抗菌物质溶出试验技术指标；提出了石墨烯材料迁移量、石墨烯材料毒理评价（吸入毒性）、可萃取重金属含量等生物安全性相关的评价要求。 ——对于石墨烯口罩的新功能，建立石墨烯材料定性分析、口罩抗菌率、抗菌稳定性、抗病毒率、有效持续使用时长等口罩新功能评价指标体系。 ——基于石墨烯口罩的高效过滤等特点，提高了口罩的过滤效率（油性及非油性）和呼、吸气阻力要求，满足口罩佩戴者舒适性和防护需求。 ——鉴于石墨烯口罩在医用环境下更具使用优势，医用防护型口罩增加细菌过滤效率、环氧乙烷残留量、表面抗湿性和合成血液渗透4项技术指标的要求。
