This paper describes a recommended practice and procedure for the correlation of test cells that are used for the performance testing of turbofan and turbojet engines. Test cell correlation is performed to determine the effect of any given test cell enclosure and equipment on the performance of an engine relative to the baseline performance of that engine. When baseline testing is performed in an indoor test cell, the baseline performance data are adjusted to open air conditions.

This SAE Aerospace Information Report (AI) provides a review of real-time modeling methodologies for gas turbine engine performance. The application of real-time models and modeling methodologies are discussed. The modeling methodologies addressed in this AIR concentrate on the aerothermal portion of the gas turbine propulsion system. Characteristics of the models, the various algorithms used in them, and system integration issues are also reviewed. In addition, example cases of digital models in source code are provided for several methodologies. The purpose of this document is to provide a source of information on current practices and procedures for developing real-time turbine engine models, not models of controls or other installation subsystems. This specification established the requirements for a 5 second duration, 4500 pound thrust (when determined at 60 °F) solid propellant rocket engine hereinafter specified as 5 S-4500. The 5 S-4500 rocket engine is a moderate duration, low- thrust, self-contained power plant employing a solid propellant. The engine is designed specifically for jet assist take-off (JATO) of aircraft, and to deliver a nominal thrust of 4500 pounds for 5 seconds duration at 60°F and sea level. The engine contains aircraft attachment fittings and an ignition system.

This International Standard establishes the general specifications for constant displacement hydraulic motors to be installed in aircraft, which transform hydraulic power into mechanical energy in the form of a rotational torque to 35 000 kPa systems. Primary and secondary function motors (see clause 3) are covered in this International Standard; actuators with internal rotation angle limits and low-speed motors are not covered in this International Standard. This International Standard shall be used in conjunction with the detail specification particular to each application.
