This publication is limited to practices for safeguarding against ignitions while loading vehicular cargo tanks with petroleum products. The recommendations pertain to truck cargo compartments where there is a possibility of the presence of flammable vapor during loading. Some of these procedures may not be applicable where steps have been taken to gas-free or inert the atmosphere in the cargo compartment@ or where anti-static additives have been added to the product. Nor are they applicable to LP gases and other similar products handled in closed pressure systems
