Introduction The purpose of this technical report is to present a methodology for developing services and protocols for Telecommunications Management Network (TMN) applications@ regardless of technology. The methodology is intended to ensure uniformity in the development of a set of consistent TMN interface specifications. This document has two components in the context of developing TMN applications: ? describes the interactions necessary between T1M1.5 and other organizations and@ ? defines the principles guiding the development of TMN applications. Concepts from both communications and computing disciplines are integrated@ therefore@ traditional protocol or operations views may not be reflected. This Technical Report is a joint product of the T1M1.5 Subworking Groups@ and it takes into account the ideas@ trends and application of methodologies and standard representation techniques in this area within International Telegraph and Telephone Consultative Committee (CCITT) and International Standards Organization (ISO). It will be maintained by the Management Services Subworking Group in close liaison with the other Subworking groups. The scope of the principles in this version is concerned with interactive applications only.
