This International Standard specifies a method for the determination of the benzoic acid content of fruit and vegetable products. The method is applicable to products having benzoic acid contents greater than 200 mg per litre or per kilogram and, in particular, to fruit juices, tomato purée, whether salted or not, and to products preserved with vinegar or lactic acid.
