These requirements cover pilot-operated pressure-control valves intended to reduce the water pressure in the supply piping for standpipe systems@ or sprinkler systems@ or both. The valves covered by these requirements are intended for use in: a) Standpipe systems installed in accordance with the Standard for Installation of Standpipe and Hose Systems@ NFPA 14; or b) Sprinkler systems installed in accordance with the Standard for Installation of Sprinkler Systems@ NFPA 13. The valves covered by these requirements are intended to be inspected@ tested@ and maintained in accordance with the Standard for the Inspection@ Testing@ and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems@ NFPA 25.
