These requirements cover hose nozzle valve readers that are powered from internal batteries. These products are intended to be installed on a hose nozzle valve at the fueling facility. The reader is used to verify that an authorized vehicle is being refueled at the location when used in combination with a similar device located on the vehicle. In accordance with 1.1@ the mating device on the vehicle is not included in the certification of products covered under this outline. This outline does not cover any other type of control device for dispensing equipment@ which are covered by the Standard for Control Equipment for Use with Flammable Liquid Dispensing Devices@ UL 1238. Except as indicated in 2.2@ a component of a product covered by this outline shall comply with the requirements for that component.
