Form: This specification covers a titanium alloy in the form of bars@ wire@ forgings@ and flash welded rings 4.000 inches (101.60 mm) and under in nominal diameter or least distance between parallel sides and of stock for forging and flash welded rings. Application: Primarily for parts which are machined after solution and precipitation heat treatment. Suitable for parts such as pressure vessels and other structures requiring high strength-to-weight ratios. Certain processing procedures and service conditions may cause these products to become subject to stress-corrosion cracking; ARP982 recommends practices to minimize such conditions.
