Introduction The Multicast Perspectives is a high level view of the processes involved in rendering CDPD and IP Multicast services. The CDPD Multicast service features include the following: a. Multiple M-ESs get a copy of the message@ regardless of the number of M-ESs or their location b. More efficient use of the network; therefore@ it should be less work for applications c. Unacknowledged; no confirmation of reception by intended receivers d. Data is not encrypted by the network e. Multicast registrations are authenticated on a per-Multicast group member basis; each Multicast group member has its own authentication credentials for a Multicast NEI f. Application must use UDP-style transport service: TCP-style transport service is not valid for Multicast.
