Identification This document describes the users' needs and expectations from the Genisis Consignment Tracking Capability (GCTC) to support NATO's Operational Requirements. The NATO C3 Agency is currently developing the first implementation of this GCTC. This project is called Interim Consignment Tracking Capability (ICTC) for ISAF. GCTC is being developed by the NATO C3 Agency@ by the Applications Development Branch of the Operations Research division. GCTC is an add-on to the Logistics Functional Area Services (LOGFAS). Its purpose is to enable Consignment Tracking (CT) in a joint multinational environment that relies on both military and commercial carriers. Future development As defined in paragraph 1.1 this STANAG is applicable for this moment and is intended to be used by Nations who plan to start using the Genesis Consignment Tracking Capability (GCTC). Work is ongoing to extend this STANAG to an edition 4 to include: 1. Asset Tracking capability and messaging; 2. Adjustment of this the STANAG and its XML messages to comply with: a. STANAG 5500 Concept of NATO Message Text formatting System (CONFORMETS) ?C ADatP-3; b. STANAG 5524 NATO Interoperability Standards and Profiles (NISP-ADatP-34); c. Publish the messages in STANAG 7149 NATO Message Catalogue ?C APP-11. Overview The goal of this product is to provide visibility of consignments from the point where the Nation/NATO establishes a consignment record for materiel destined to the multinational environment to the point where a consignment is broken down or received by the ordering activity at the final destination@ all within the ISAF Supply Chain. It will be built based on the ACT RFID Experiment Prototype. Document Overview This annex will document all the concepts that are being handled by the Consignment Tracking. The basis for this document is the Business Process Model for NATO Consignment Tracking [1] that describes the concept of Consignment Tracking.
