The objective of a PVRC activity was to collect@ organize@ analyze@ and interpret the results of applicable fatigue crack growth rate testing of low-alloy pressure vessel steels exposed to reactor coolant water environments. The results of this effort are documented in the collection of three reports provided in this Bulletin. The reports document the results of the three phases of the effort: collecting the applicable data and organizing the data into a retrievable database@ processing the data on a statistically consistent basis with the results being presented in the form of reference fatigue crack growth rate curves that can be used to assess fatigue crack growth in pressure vessel equipment@ and providing an interpretation of the state-of-the-art of environmentally assisted cracking (EAC) due to fatigue to be used as guidelines for application of the reference curves to light water reactor pressure boundary components. The latter interpretive report is considered necessary because of the rapidly emerging nature of the technology and because of the paucity of data to allow definitive conclusions regarding many practical situations that may occur in application of the reference curves.
