Corrosion resistance is a common concern of those wishing to use brazed joints. Brazing incorporates a bond of dissimilar materials@ thus the danger of corrosion due to galvanic action or preferential attack is always of concern. Since the area of the braze is necessarily small compared to the base materials@ severe preferential attack of the braze can cause failure quickly. Unfortunately@ information specific to brazed joints is incomplete and widely scattered. This interpretive report attempts to survey the state-of-the-art and record in one place the information available on the corrosion resistance of brazed joints.
