This specification establishes welding equipment requirements@ materials preparation@ and preproduction and production requirements for acceptable welds in coated and uncoated@ low-carbon@ medium carbon@ and low-alloy@ high strength steels. These requirements are the minimum acceptable for resistance spot@ seam@ and projection welding of assemblies. This standard makes use of both the International System of Units (SI) and U.S. Customary Units. The measurements are not exact equivalents; therefore@ each system must be used independently of the other with combining values in any way. SI Units are listed first and U.S. Customary Units are listed second in parenthesis ( ) when used in the text.
