This recommended practice covers the maintenance inspection@ repair@ evaluation for continued use@ and the methods for computing the maximum allowable working pressure of pressure vessels constructed in accordance with any of the several editions of the former API-ASME Code for Unfired Pressure Vessels@ the several editions of Section VIII of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code@ other recognized pressure vessel codes@ or approved as jurisdictional special. Adoption of this recommended practice as a code does not permit its being used in conflict with any prevailing regulatory requirements.
